The cold powdery stuff seems to hold an irresistible attraction for children – even the ones who don't really enjoy more traditional sports. In fact, they'll have so much fun, they probably won't realise how much exercise they're getting.

(Not to mention building new skills and new friendships)

Oh, and because skiing and snowboarding are individual sports, everyone progresses at their own pace – but with the support and fun of having friends around.

Your local dry slope

Chances are your school is close to a dry slope for skiing or snowboarding. Dry slopes and indoor snow slopes welcome school groups – especially as they help keep the slopes busy during the usually quiet school hours.

Get competitive

You only need a couple of snowsport enthusiasts to take part in inter-schools competitions. These take place on dry slopes and snow – so come on and get your school involved.
