New to snowboarding? Everything you need to know is right here on the Snowlife website. And with a little help and bit of practice, you'll soon be tearing down the slopes (artificial or snow-covered) faster than a polar bear in a bobsleigh.
How to snowboard
Here's the truth snowboarding isn't that difficult. Honest.
Once you can carve (make long wide turns on the edge of the board, without skidding), you're off.
When you book lessons, most snowboarding schools will lend you all the gear you need to get started so you can get a feel for the sport and save yourself a packet to boot.
What to buy
Once you've mastered the basics, you'll want to get some of your own snowboarding kit. You'll definitely want to buy a warm, waterproof snowboard jacket as well as trousers. Apart from other basics like a hat and gloves, you might even want to buy a pair of snowboard boots.
Where to snowboard
Down to the local dry ski slope or off to the Scottish Highlands? Pop across to a European ski resort or even try snowboarding in America? The truth is you can ride in a huge range of countries. All you'll need is a passport a phrase book and a lust for the cold stuff.
