"Snow blades". Even the name sounds a bit, well, dangerous. But don't be put off. They're simply a ridiculously good way to have fun on the slopes.
Think of a short pair of skis which are built for balance and control. Then remove the usual release bindings (well, there's no need), add in a pretty painless way of falling and you've got a great way of enjoying yourself on the slopes.
